“Education is a natural process carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment.” Maria Montessori
What is the ECCE Scheme?
The Early Child-Care and Education(ECCE) programme is designed to give children access to free pre-school of appropriate programme-based activities during the two years before they start primary school. Participation in a pre-school programme provides children with their first formal experience of early learning, the starting-point of their educational and social development outside the home. Children who avail of pre-school are more likely to be ready for school and a formal learning and social environment.
When will my child be eligible to participate in the ECCE programme?
The ECCE programme is open to all children aged from 3 years old until they start Primary School.
There are three months at which your child can start availing of the free scheme as outlined below:
Montessori Monkeys accepts children from 2 and a half years old. Please contact us for information and prices if your child does not meet the ECCE age requirements.
Will I have to pay additional charges in respect of the free Pre-School Year?
Here at Montessori Monkeys we want to provide you with free pre-school, and keep it just that - free! We do not charge any optional extras, but we do provide the "extras" that some other pre-schools charge for.
For example - we provide a Christmas, Halloween and end of year party. We will have an Easter egg hunt. We give you photos and an end of year scrap book with art work from throughout the year. We believe that these are not and should not be "optional extras" and that all children should have access to these regardless of whether it has been paid for by the parent.
